Theatre
Riverside strives to produce a play in the fall and a musical in the spring. In November 2025, we were pleased to present The Legend of Sleepy Hollow as part of a glorious All Hallows Fest.
And this March, we will bring back to the stage The Legend of Coyote Cal, an original musical written by Riverside Founder and Creative Director Peter Searby. We hope you can come to this Wild West show.
Coyote Cal is one of ten original Riverside musicals, some of which are available for licensing.

The Legend of Coyote Cal

March 26-28, 2026
The Buffalo Bill Wild West show needs a new act. With the departure of Sitting Bull, and the problem of Bill Cody's deteriorating health, Buffalo Bill turns to an old friend—the greatest and most mysterious legend of the west: Coyote Cal.
But when Cal brings the ancient Ghost Dance to the show he sparks a fire between the US Government, The Lakota Sioux, and the cast of the Wild West. And in the middle of it all looms the shadow of the Crow.

An Original
Riverside Musical
The Legend of Coyote Cal is one of ten original musicals written by Riverside Founder & Creative Director Peter Searby. First performed in 2019 at the Commons in Westmont, Legend includes songs like Sunset in the Wild West, I Know a Thing about Love, and the Wild West Without Me.
Riverside is thrilled to bring Buffalo Bill Cody, Johnny Baker, Annie Oakley, Sitting Bull, and the Wild West show back to the stage. The 2026 cast includes several younger siblings of the original actors and actresses who will have the opportunity to present this legendary tale on the Wheaton Academy stage.
